One photo for each country I have been
Guess all of you probably know that I have travelled a whole lot this year, I am not too sure why. It is a mixture of leisure and work as well. But most importantly, I fufilling my lifetime ambition of travelling around the whole (and even out of Asia). Here's my favourtie photo representing each country that I have been to in 2008.
Ho Chih Minh City, Vietnam - January 2008 ,October 2008
I have been to Vietnam twice in 2008! Can you believe it? The lure? Coffee? Work? In January, I embarked on a trip to a country that many told me was boring, quite difficult to get around and not really a good bargain. So, I wasn't disappointed really. I had expected most of this. But what I did not expect was the food (pho) and coffee (Trung Nyuen) was fantastic! And on October 2008, when I went there again for my company retreat, I felt that I bought enough coffee to last me for quite a while.
Now this must be the most boring trip of my life! I thought that it was so boring that I found it more interesting to stay in the hotel room to watch the news in the hotel room. Markets crashing to all time lows, Merrill Lynch bought over by BOA - these seems more exciting. Anyway, an ending to the boring but relaxing days in Hainan was a day on the beach with babies (and his tummy).
In between the January Vietnam trip and the next Hainan trip, I went to Hong Kong once and India once (I did not have much of a chance to take photos of India though).
Macau & Hong Kong October 2008
Actually, I have been to Hong Kong quite a number of times. And I have always wanted to bring Edwin (babies) around to the Peak, Mong Kok to shop, Central to see the Hong Kong office and ofcourse something babies will never miss - MACAU! So my wish came through and look at how comfortable he is lying on the bed in the Venetian, Macau. That place is damn big! But the casino area is very small - how I wish the Sands casino would be like that. Anyways, I quite enjoyed the trip despite quarelling with babies as he seems to think I have neglected him because I kept working. Love you lar, you think I don't care about you meh (directed to him).
Los Angeles, San Francisco, Las Vegas - October 2008
My favourite place in West Coast is Las Vegas. There are so many colours and lights at night. We can get beer free in the Casino and there's free performances and theatre and all. Of course there are many many things to write about for Las Vegas. But I am too tired now. Perhaps I will write a detailed blog on the US trip.
